finally...
The sun was shining today, and Sophia was in a posing type of mood so here are a couple more pictures...but as this is my last night with the tv to myself I am making my blog short.
But I do want to thank Oma and Opa for making my extra long weekend with the girls a lot easier, but look at these two...you just have to love them : )

happy face
I don't think Sophia could have been any happier with her new coat. Life can't get any better than this!
The make It perfect uptown jacket pattern goes perfectly with their hat. I had a few finishing touches to make to the jacket but it is now complete and hopefully we'll get a sunny day soon and I can get some better pictures of the finished product, I couldn't possibly get a better one of Sophia :)

the sun can't shine everyday...
every now and then it has to rain...however, the fact that it rained on the same day that I finished Sophia's new sun hat is a little annoying. Although you can see that regardless of the weather outside she was having a great time wearing it in the house. This hat was created using the make It perfect Lazy Day Hat pattern, this is the second hat that I've made with this pattern and while sewing around a circle was difficult at first I really believe that this hat looks even better in person than this picture demonstrates, also because Sophia is becoming more difficult to photograph.
I realized, as I was sewing again tonight, that I have a house to myself (and the two sleeping girls upstairs, 3 if you count Kitty) and here I am up way too late trying to finish a project that does NOT need to be completed next week let alone tomorrow. I have an addiction, a sewing/fabric addiction. In preparation for my weekend alone with the girls I purchased some batting for a quilt, thread to topstitch a couple items for Sophia, I got 4 movies (one for each night without Steve) and a bag of rippled sour cream and onion chips...so far I have completed Sophia's hat, one other item that I hope to get some good pictures of tomorrow and half a bag of chips. So much for the movie nights, hopefully tomorrow, with one more project completed I will be able to just sit and watch a movie...why do I keep setting deadlines for my sewing??? Maybe in a few years, when the girls are a little older, these girl weekends will be a little more exciting. When can I get Sophia and Layla working on a sewing machine of their own without it being considered a sweat shop???

Sunny side up
It has been a while since my last post, but the photos I took today of the girls are just so great that I thought I would share them. I should be able to get some great images of Sophia tomorrow with my newest creation, but until then...
don't you just want to squeeze those cheeks!
On days like today everyone is trying to find a little bit of sunshine...
Stay tuned for tomorrow, a solution to the overabundance of sun.

Spring has Sprung...
...and so have the hinges on my fabric bin. So in order to use up some of the scraps, that I just can't possibly throw out, I was experimenting with a new project. These balls are perfect for Layla to hold on to and the little jingle bells inside are great for Kitty to chase around the house.
I just finished a new project and I can't wait to show everyone pictures but I want it to be a surprise for a special birthday girl so I'll have to wait for the reveal a little while longer.
In other sewing news, the girls swimming bags are currently on hold. The girls start swimming lessons this week, but you can't rush perfection, and the fact that I had about 7 projects on the go last week and two small girls to look after, doesn't leave much time in the day to sew.
